Luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S-Class presented
Compared to a “regular” long-wheelbase sedan, the Maybach has grown by another 180 mm – up to 5469 mm. All this increase went to increase the distance between the axles, which is now 3396 mm. This is 69 mm less than the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended, but 202 mm more than the Bentley Flying Spur, which Mercedes itself considers its main rival.

On the outside, the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class stands out with its original radiator grille and bumper, elongated rear doors, exclusive sets of 19-21-inch wheels, an illuminated emblem on the rear pillar and a number of other unique strokes. An optional two-tone body color with a dividing line will be offered: buyers will be able to choose from 10 combinations.
All Maybach driving assistants available to the base model are included by default - as well as a fully controlled chassis with the ability to turn the rear wheels by 10 degrees, five screens in the cabin, an augmented reality system and a bunch of other technologies that debuted on the new flagship sedan, which, without exaggeration, could I wish I could write a whole book.

It was previously reported that the version from Mercedes-Maybach will be the only one for which the six-liter V12 will be retained, but so far they have announced only a moderate-hybrid modification of the S 580 for the American market. This is a combination of a four-liter V8 (503 hp and 700 Nm) already familiar from the base S-class with an EQ Boost starter-generator (short-term increase of 22 hp and 250 Nm), a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h, the acceleration time to the first hundred is not disclosed.
