Porsche Taycan entered the Guinness Book of Records
The race took place at the largest American convention center located in New Orleans. The area of the premises, the covering of which is made of polished concrete, is 93,000 m². The race driver had to drive through a section of the track marked with cones and have time to brake in front of a concrete wall. At the same time, the absence of a rescue net or any other insurance created conditions in which the athlete had no room for error.
To set the record, Lech Kean chose the most powerful modification of the Porsche Taycan - Turbo S, equipped with a 761-horsepower power plant and optional carbon-ceramic brakes. The electric car accelerates to “hundreds” in just 2.8 seconds. The model overcomes the 200 km/h mark in 9.6 seconds. As a precaution, the race car driver pre-warmed the supercar's tires and set off on a risky ride. On his first attempt, the athlete managed to accelerate the Porsche Taycan Turbo S to 165.1 km/h, setting a new record.
According to the athlete, moving on polished concrete at high speed reminded him of driving on ice. The previous world record for indoor speed, which was 138.4 km/h, stood for 7 years. In this regard, it should be expected that Lech Kin's new achievement will remain unsurpassed for a long time.
