Electric BMW iNext caught by spy photographers

The electric crossover BMW iNext, designed to become the flagship of the “green” model range of the German company, was captured by spy photographers during testing.

The BMW iNext prototype is almost completely covered in camouflage - with the exception of the windshield and front side windows. However, you can see that the design of the crossover body is drawn in a manner unusual for BMW stylists - without any stampings on the sides, sharp edges, folds and the like. In addition, an unusual rear design with a rather narrow tailgate and developed fenders is noticeable. Perhaps the original design will be another way for BMW to emphasize the advancedness of the future new product.

You can also see the unusual “radiator grille” that the manufacturer officially announced some time ago. It will not serve for cooling: the unit, which has retained its recognizable corporate outlines, will become the basis for placing sensors and scanners of the 3rd level autonomous control system.

BMW iNext will be equipped with a fifth-generation electric power plant. Its characteristics have not yet been announced, but the Bavarians have mentioned that the crossover will be able to travel up to 600 km on a single charge. However, most likely, the iNext will have several modifications, and at least some of them focus not on power reserve, but on dynamics.

The crossover is planned to be assembled at the plant in Dingolfing, which is currently undergoing a total modernization. The official debut of the BMW iNext is scheduled for 2021, and the high-tech crossover should go on sale the same year.
