Bentley unveiled the most expensive car in its history
Bentley and the oldest British coachbuilder Mulliner have presented the Bacalar Barchetta, an exclusive roadster with an original exterior, based on the Continental GT coupe. The new product will be the first two-seater Bentley since 1930 and will be produced in a limited edition of only 12 copies. Price: from £1.5 million. And, as often happens in such cases, the entire edition of the exclusive car has already been sold.
The calling card of Bacalar is the body created from scratch based on the EXP 100 GT prototype. Mulliner stylists managed to maintain continuity with the concept on the small-scale roadster due to the structure of the rear lights, the design of the 22-inch wheel rims and the shape of the headlights. Only the door handles are similar to the regular Continental GTC convertible - all other elements were developed specifically for the Bacalar.

In terms of architecture, the interior of the Bacalar is similar to the donor convertible: the similarities are emphasized by the virtual instruments, the “triangular” panel, the transmission selector and the configuration of the central tunnel.
The barchetta has an original steering wheel, door cards and graphical interface, a different design for the air ducts in the center, and special seats made of natural wool with 148 thousand stitches. A special touch is the use of peat bog wood for the interior, which is over 5,000 years old. There is also an exclusive set of travel bags made from the same materials and colors as the seats.
The form factor of the Continental GT on the barchetta has been retained: the new product differs only in the rear track widened by 20 millimeters. The designers were limited by the overall dimensions of the original coupe/convertible, so the Bacalar has the same windshield slope, identical front and rear overhangs and wheelbase.
