Kia Rio hatchback awaits a small update
The disguise doesn't allow us to see much yet. But, perhaps, you shouldn’t expect radical changes, since the company is spending much more effort on developing its line of SUVs. At best, a new radiator grille design and a tweaked design of the front and rear optics. The multimedia system in the cabin can be updated.
The range of Rio engines includes naturally aspirated engines 1.2 (84 hp, 122 Nm, five-speed manual) and 1.4 (99 hp, 133 Nm, six-speed manual or four-speed automatic), turbo engine 1.0 ( 100 hp, 172 Nm, five-speed manual or 120 hp, 172 Nm, six-speed manual and seven-speed robot to choose from). Until the summer of 2018, there was also a diesel engine (77 or 90 hp, 240 Nm, six-speed manual). In the USA there is only an aspirated 1.6 (122 hp, 152 Nm), combined with an IVT variator. Diesel is unlikely to return, but adding a mild hybrid system to some engines is possible.
