Fiat presented its first hybrids

Fiat presented the updated Panda and 500 with the Hybrid prefix. Such cars cannot drive on electricity alone, but they operate on the principle of a “mild” hybrid.
Fiat Panda and Fiat 500 are built on the same platform and are equipped with the same 70-horsepower unit. It consists of a liter engine and a starter-generator, which helps the engine during acceleration, is responsible for the operation of the start-stop system and stores energy during braking. Both cars are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
The Fiat 500 Hybrid will go on sale in Europe in February, and the Panda Hybrid will reach showrooms in March. Next on the market will be the all-electric 500e, which will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring.
