Renault's new electric car will travel 600 km without recharging

Europeans thinking about purchasing a compact yet long-range electric crossover may need to wait until 2021. As L’argus reports, this is exactly the model that one of the leaders of the “green” market, Renault, is currently preparing.
According to the source, in the brand’s product line, the electric crossover will be located one step above the popular Renault Zoe hatchback. The new product will be based on the CMF EV platform, developed jointly with Nissan specifically for cars without internal combustion engines. Of all the characteristics, only the power reserve is known, but it is truly impressive - as much as 600 kilometers. Even though the estimate is not based on the most realistic WLTP methodology, the numbers seem incredible for a small electric car. To understand, the same Zoe with a 55 kWh battery under favorable conditions can cover up to 395 kilometers on a single charge.

Renault declassified this show car this spring as a harbinger of a new family of electric vehicles based on the CMF EV architecture. By the way, the Nissan Ariya is built on it. In addition, another, slightly larger Renault electric crossover – approximately the size of the Kadjar – will receive the same platform. It is due out in 2022.
